{Little sweet shell}

When from the distant past nothing remains, after the beings have died, after the things are destroyed and scattered, still, alone, more fragile, yet more vital, more insubstantial, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls, ready to remind us, waiting and hoping for their moment, amid the ruins of everything else; and bear unfaltering, in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence, the immense architecture of memory.

Yet again I had recalled the taste of a bit of madeleine dunked in a linden-flower tea which my aunt used to give me (although I did not yet know and must long await the discovery of why this memory made me so happy), immediately the old gray house on the street where her room was found, arose like a theatrical tableau…”
“And suddenly the memory revealed itself: The taste was that of the little piece of madeleine which on Sunday mornings at Combray (because on those mornings I did not go out before mass), when I went to say good morning to her in her bedroom, my aunt Léonie used to give me, dipping it first in her own cup of tea or tisane.”
What a better way to end the week?
Baking and cooking for the weekend!
Quale modo migliore per concludere la settimana?
Preparare dolcetti per il weekend!
Since I’ve bought the mould I’ve made already “tons” of madeleines, those little shell of sweetness!! my fridge is almost to explode, I gave them to my family, I’ve offered them (fresh, almost just took out from the oven) to the girls Saturday before starting the crazy shopping!
I really enjoy to make them, they remind me my beautiful holiday in France ( Ups…I still have so many pics to show you).
Well…
My weekend will be busy as all the pasts and all the next one…tomorrow ther’s my friend’s daughter’s baptism… I’m the godmother! I’ve made the favors, probably I will show it to you monday!
What about you? Tell me your plans!
Raccontatemeli!
Have a terrific Weekend darlings!
