Today I’m beyond excited to be here, guest posting at Gaia! I’m rather nervous to be honest..
I think the easiest way to break the ice is introducing myself? I’m Flaviana, I’m 35 I live in Padova -not so far from Bologna – and I’m an interior addict, really!
Ever since I moved into my house last September I’ve been moving and changing and replacing things all the time 🙂
The latest addiction are the ciel-de-lit I bought for the two bedrooms ..Choosing the color of the curtains was, needless to say, a major issue !In the end I opted for white lace in one room and pale beige tulle in the other -works are still in progress though!
Another thing I’m really crazy about is treasure hunting at flea markets .. well, who doesn’t ?! I buy everything that takes my fancy
A couple of weeks ago I found this very ancient monogrammed towel; at least I’ve been told it’s a towel. The vendor told me it was part of an entire 1920 trousseau, never used .. I wonder what happened to the lady who owned this? She probably never married otherwise she would have used it? That’s what I like about vintage stuff, there’s always a story behind it .. a story I can imagine or fantasize about..
Now I have to decide where to use it.. as a table runner or as a throw?
Oh yes.. I was forgetting enamel pots ! That’s the last piece of my slowly-growing collection.. a milk pot, it’s a bit rusty I know but isn’t it cute?
and old opera booklets
Another thing I really enjoy is having people around for dinner or breakfast.. or tea!
Dressing the table and choosing the right tablecloth is a bit like playing house..don’t you think?
Flowers are a must! There’s a problem though.. they don’t last and after a day they start shedding leaves or petals, that really drive me nuts ! Am I normal???
Oh one more thing: cards.. Yes, I’m an old fashioned girl and like to thank my friends for invites or gift with a thank you note! I know email is simpler and quicker but nothing beats the pleasure of receiving a handwritten ,beautiful card like these ones ,made especially by my friend Carol!
so.. for whoever was so kind to stop by today and read me blabbing…thank you, with a virtual, lovely, crispy thankyou card!
